Outplacement services for laid-off employees
The people you let go will be interviewing within weeks, and many haven't done it in years. A basic outplacement program costs about $900 to $3,000 a person at the firms' published prices. NailedIt covers the interview part for $29 a person, by card, with no sales call.
What outplacement services are
Outplacement services are career help an employer pays for when it lets people go. A firm coaches each person through the job search: resume and LinkedIn, job leads, networking and getting ready for interviews. It is usually part of the severance package, so the employee pays nothing.
What outplacement costs
Published prices for a three-month program run from about $900 to $3,000 per employee. Executive programs run $5,000 and up.
- Randstad RiseSmart: $899 per employee for three months with four coaching calls, $1,899 for three months with more coaching and a resume written for them, $2,599 for six months, and $6,499 for a twelve-month executive program.
- IMPACT Group: $1,000 to $3,000 a person for a three-month program with two to four coaching sessions, and $5,000 to $35,000 for executive programs.
- ADP: from a few hundred dollars for basic services to more than $20,000 for executives, billed per employee who uses the service.

Where interview practice fits
In these programs, interview prep is one item on the list: a coaching call, a workshop or a video tool. That isn't many reps for someone whose last interview was years ago, and the first real one back is where it shows. Their stories are rusty, "why did you leave?" comes out shaky, and they have no number ready for salary.
What your people get
- They paste the job posting. The questions come from it.
- They answer out loud. An AI interviewer asks the questions, follows up when an answer is vague and scores every answer.
- They add their resume. The interviewer asks about their real jobs.
- They practice the hard questions on their own: why they were laid off, the gap, salary.
- They get a scorecard after each mock that flags the weakest answers and shows how to fix them.
Their answers and scores stay with them. You see how many seats were used and nothing else.
Want to see it first? Try a mock interview yourself. It's free.
